New stockist: Mr Feather's Den

Announcements Stockists

Mr Feather's Den is one of my favourite shops in Featherston. Other than it's genius name I love it because it's filled with beautiful things, displays many products in colour themes and has great window displays. They're also now stocking Emma Makes - they have pencils, notebooks, pencil cases and a couple of pixie bags. Depending on what sells this range may change. If you make a stop (they're opposite the petrol station on the main road) then also pop next door to Everest Cafe for great bread (on the weekends) and muffins (during the week) made by Martin the...

Last days to register for Emma Makes workshops

This October the Wairarapa is going to host its first ever Creative Festival, Kokomai. There's lots of workshops as part of that and I'm teaching two; this coming Tuesday is the last day to register. It should be a great occasion to sit around, chat with new people and make something nice for yourself. Workshop two My other class is about customising op-shop clothing....

Hey I made some new bags

New products

It feels like I started these bags ages ago and now here at last they have been finished. Slowly, slowly I've been getting more bags onto my online shop and these the latest. See all my bags from newest to oldest. I love this cute little pixie - it's floral velvet with bright blue birds. I've upcycled a brown belt into handles and it's lined in white cotton. This big bag is HUGE - made from and old grey army blanket, which had a great red stitching detail. I worked hard to keep it as part of the bag because...

Happy go lucky in The Jam Jar

This month I'm one of the featured designers in online magazine The Jam Jar. Here's what they say... "‘Happy go lucky’ is how I would describe Emma Makes, with her amazing sense of being in the moment and accepting what life throws her. Emma McCleary loves what she does and does it with a gentle hand and a breath of time around her. "Classic and vintage with freshness and individuality is the vast range of products that she makes." Read my interview in The Jam Jar. Read the interview with Lava - one of my stockists.

How to bid on the Emma Makes Tiny Eyes doll

Announcements Events

The Tiny Eyes collaboration dolls are all finished and this weekend they're being auctioned on Facebook. To bid on the auction (which will run from Friday August 9th at 12pm (NZST) and finish on Sunday August 11th 12pm (NZST)) you need to join this Facebook event. All the bidding will happen online. Below is a look at my doll - completely finished and with her little toy cat. I purposefully made my doll look like an adult but I do worry that I've made a crazy cat lady. Oh well, crazy cat ladies need love too. Great news for Waikato readers...
