Yesterday I tied my studio and today was rainy and misty - the perfect combination for sitting down and finally drawing up my Tiny Eyes doll collaboration. See the other stages of the Emma Makes for Tiny Eyes project. I ended up drawing the design up about three times - spending about three hours pottering away while listening to podcasts. Here's the process happened... I drew out the Tiny Eyes template and cracked open the art set that Santa gave me. I drew a blunt bob for my doll - a challenge because Tiny Eyes dolls usually have round heads....

Over the weekend I received a really exciting email from Dee at Tiny Eyes asking me to collaborate with her in making an Emma Makes-inspired doll. She's asked a few New Zealand makers and all the dolls will eventually be sold online. If you haven't come across Dee, she's a well-known crafter making individually handcrafted fabric dolls in her living room. She has a great following and I'm really excited to work with someone I admire on creating something truly different for me. For now I need to think about how my doll will look (Dee will do the sewing) and what Emma Makes...

Here's an unexepected delight... Alisa recently treated herself for her birthday by buying an Emma Makes foldover clutch. She sent me this picture to show that her new clutch (when folded out to full size) will carry her Kindle. So now she's got an e-reader cover and a purse for going out.
