The Emma Makes story

When we were kids, Dad would whittle off the top side of a pencil and write our names carefully in block lettering. EMMA. JACOB. TOM. ISAAC.

When I wasn’t writing fantastical stories or drawing I was making a valiant effort to read the Winton Public Library.

I still love words and language. Clever people delight me. And I still read a lot.

Now my pencils carry a range of witty sayings, they’re sold across New Zealand and Australia, and I get paid to write, and read, and have smart conversations about really important things (not pencils).

When I'm not doing this I like to chill out by making Instagram stories
